October 6th: World Card Making Day!

Well, I'd better join in and make and post a card then hadn't I!  The Autumn sun was streaming through the window when I took this photo and reflected off the tinfoil under the card.  I bought a pack of these kraft-type card bases recently and rather like the diagonal lines in the cardstock but the mottled effect is definitely the sunshine.  I used Old Paper Distress ink to stamp the background which the strong sun has rather faded out in the photo.  And I copied Nichole Heady's Copic colouring technique for the main image and added pattern to the sections with the colourless blender pen.

It seems to me that Autumn and felt are really made for each other, especially when I use the gorgeous organic plant dyed wool felt offcuts I'm addicted to.  The colours really are special when you see them next to chemically dyed felt and I can't resist buying a couple of bags whenever I find them in stock at Myriad.   I added some felt die cuts to my card, just to emphasis the season.

Supplies:  PTI Autumn Hills stamp set, Delightful Dahlia dies; Memory Box Puffy Cloud dies; Copic markers

  1. I love that image and how you have coloured it. Will go and have a look at Nicole's technique and learn something new.Makes me think of stained glass windows for some reason. Hugs Mrs A.

  3. Love the background on your card. And your coloring of this image is so pretty too. I finally stamped my set up and found the images to be so tiny I was afraid to color too much of it. Have a great day and week ahead.

  5. Lovely card - I also associate felt with the chilly Autumn days :) The sun pouring shadows next to the card is magic!

  6. What a great card, reminds me of Clarice Cliff. I haven't seen the blender pen technique before, it's very effective, and I love those clouds.
