Mothers Day Tulips

I've been looking forward to using this gorgeous tulip stamp from Papertrey's Friendship Jar Spring Fillers set and saved it for my Mum's Mothers Day card. Not a very original design but I think this lovely image looks good on its own. I've coloured the flowers to match my favourite dark and delicious garden tulips. Of course they aren't out yet but here they are in bloom last year.

Mum has started to enjoy a bit of simple embroidery recently so I've bought her this lovely old chocolate box containing a half finished embroidery project from long ago. I really love browsing the vintage sewing sections on ebay and have developed a bit of an obsession with old embroidery transfers lately. I've already amassed a small collection without even trying, so I really enjoyed Lucy's post here about her latest ebay obsession - and YES! it is so easy to get carried away! Makes me think what on earth I spent my money on before on-line auctions existed!

  1. I am sure your mum will love both the card and gift.

  2. oh my goodness! The jar and flowers have SO much dimension, they look REAL!!! I don't know how you achieved this affect but it is STUNNING!!!

  3. I love your card, Ann, and the picture of your garden tulips - I know your Mom will, too! I think I must finally order this jar and the fillers, too.......

  4. I love your colouring Ann, they match those in your garden perfectly. Love the embroidery and that tin - lovely gift. Don't set me off on anything else to be buying on ebay LOL!

  5. WOw!!! Your coloring on this is just perfection! Stunning card, Ann. They look identical to your garden tulips. :o) Your mom will sure love this as well as that lovely embroidery & tin... what a great find!

  6. Oh, I just love tulips. Your card is absolutely adorable - and they really resemble the photograph. Theresa

  7. Oh wow, that purple is sooo vibrant! It's absolutely gorgeous Ann, those tulips look so life like.
