It always seems to be late afternoon by the time I'm ready to go for my walk down the lane and at this time of year dusk is falling by the time I get home. But this does mean that the setting sun lights up little places here and there, making beautiful pictures - this bramble leaf being one I spied last week.
I'm very fond of the countryside in winter and early spring when the trees are still bare. Everything seems to look orderly and well kept - albeit a bit muddy. And did you know that here in Wales there are more sheep than people? At this time of year the sheep population explodes as the lambs arrive. One of my favourite occupations is lamb watching - they seem to revel in their short lives even when the temperatures are below freezing.
Glorious photo of the leaf with the sun shinning on it. I spotted the first butterfly in the garden on Saturday and hubby the the first bumble bee. I think spring is finally on its way.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place you live in, Ann! As always, thanks so much for sharing it with us! Love your new blog header, too!
ReplyDeleteThat little lamb frolicking just looks so sweet!! Terrific picture, as is the bramble leaf. Wales must be a very pretty country.

Ann, thank you for sharing these beautiful photos. It's such a treat for my eyes since there's nothing like it around me. I am living vicariously through you... and learning some new things. Hmm... more lambs than people... can't remember when was the last time I saw lamb or any to that matter here. :o)
ReplyDeleteOh Ann, this countryside is SO lovely! And those lambs - I adore them sooo sooo much. We went to a garden show last year and there were little baby lambs - I befriended one and loved the feel of soft wool. :) Theresa
ReplyDeleteThose lams are the sweetest - me too I have goats and sheeps in front of the house - from the natives (Bedouins) here - but they look so different ...
