Late winter sunshine

The blossom on the plum tree is the first to appear
We've just enjoyed two glorious days here in North Wales!  The garden is starting to come to life, the birds are singing, the sky is clear blue, and the nights are star lit.

The daffodils came out for St David's Day
Blackbirds and Robins are singing - even in the dark!

I'm not an astronomer but I do like to star gaze and the night sky has been pretty impressive this week with Venus and Jupiter shining brilliantly as I walk home at dusk. And although I've lived here for many many years its the first time I've been in the right place at the right time to see the sun setting through the church spire.  Luckily I had my camera with me to record it.

St Peter's Church spire at dusk
Unfortunately the forecast for the weekend is not good..... but they could be wrong!  Wherever you are have a good one.

  1. Oh, Ann, what wonderful pictures......I do love the coming of spring as it opens slowly. Thanks so much for sharing!

  2. Beautiful pictures. here we do not have blossoms yet but we also had some 'spring' days. Clear sky many many cranes flying over to the north. here they say when seeing the cranes: we are saved!!!!
    I was in Holland for ten days so could not visit you earlier. have a good weekend<;

  3. I'm glad you had the camera to hand to cappture that perfect sunset. No blossom here although the Prunus is well in bud and some of the Narcissus are starting to open their cheerful faces. Have a good day, whatever the weather.

  4. Oh I love it when you share photos of where you live. Ah spring is such a special time of the year. Love the flowers! And what a super photo of the sun shining through the church spire window! Spring unfortunately will not show up here until about May.

  5. my my, you already have blossoms, so lovely.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and taking the time to comment - its hugely appreciated. Ann :o)
