Here's a thing..... I've made something! OK its not an exquisitely embroidered garment or intricately knitted lace but I like it a lot. Don't you just hate how everything looks bare when the Christmas decorations come down? When I saw Jenny B Harris' dotty-garland here I thought "just the job" and made my own version to take a bit of that bareness away until Springtime arrives to brighten everything up.
Jenny cut out her circles by hand but I'm not a neat circle cutter and I didn't have a 2" punch - but I did have a 2" scallop circle punch which made this a very quick project. I printed out four sheets of circles and strung them on some lovely thick bakers twine, sticking two of the same pattern back to back with double sided tape, sandwiching the twine between.
There are some other great ideas for using the circles on Jenny's gorgeous blog. They are perfect for use on cards and other papercraft projects as well as cheering up a post-Christmas room. AND best of all they are a freebie printable!
My garland is the first project I've made to add to Annie The Felt Fairy's Make a Month challenge. Phew - its nearly February already!
The garland is so pretty, Ann! It looks so wonderful with all the lights, too. Very festive and spring-like! Theresa
ReplyDeleteAnn the garland is lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea! Very festive in a happy way while we wait for warmer weather to return. And how is your mum doing? Hope she is better and out of the hospital.
